When replacing a distributor on a 1987 Toyota Supra, it’s crucial to confirm the exact part condition and compatibility due to variations in engine configurations and ignition systems. This listing offers a used distributor, grade X, indicating a specific condition level noted by the seller. The distributor is a key component responsible for routing high voltage from the ignition coil to the spark plugs in the correct firing order and timing, essential for engine performance. This particular distributor, identified by seller stock RC1981, comes from a 1987 Toyota Supra. While the exact engine variant isn’t specified, buyers should verify their vehicle’s engine type and ignition system to ensure fitment. Comparing this part with your existing distributor or consulting a professional can help confirm compatibility. The grade X condition suggests the part may have wear or require refurbishment, so inspecting the distributor for physical damage, wear on the rotor and cap, and shaft play is recommended before installation. This can prevent potential ignition issues after replacement.
