Description

When considering an engine replacement for your 1972 Ford LTD Full Size, the most critical factor often overlooked is the exact engine specification and drivetrain compatibility. This listing offers a 6.6L engine designed for a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup with an automatic transmission (AT), crucial details that ensure proper fit and function in your vehicle. The engine's displacement and transmission type directly affect performance characteristics and installation requirements, so confirming these against your vehicle's original setup is essential. This particular engine, identified by seller stock number W19989, comes from a 1972 Ford LTD Full Size, a classic full-size vehicle known for its robust V8 powerplants. The seller notes a grade "X," which typically indicates a used or reconditioned status, so assessing the engine's condition before purchase is advisable. Additionally, the seller estimates a CO2e savings of 1194kg, suggesting environmental considerations if you are replacing an older or less efficient engine. When comparing this engine to others, verify the exact engine displacement and transmission compatibility. Engines with different displacements or designed for manual transmissions may not fit or perform correctly. Also, consider the drivetrain layout; this engine is for RWD vehicles, so it may not suit front-wheel-drive configurations. The listing confirms the engine's application to the 1972 Ford LTD Full Size, but buyers should cross-check their vehicle's VIN and engine codes to ensure compatibility. For more information on related components and options, explore our Ford parts selection. Before purchasing, inspect the engine for signs of wear or damage, inquire about included components, and confirm return policies. Taking these steps will help ensure you receive a powerplant that meets your vehicle's needs and your expectations. Explore this engine option to restore or upgrade your classic Ford LTD Full Size with confidence.
