2021 GMC Truck Sierra 3500 Engine — Part # K54221 — Premier Truck Salvage-PRP Freight, CDC · Phillipsburg, MO

When considering an engine replacement for your 2021 GMC Sierra 3500, one often overlooked but critical factor is the condition and history of the engine itself. This particular engine, identified by the seller stock number K54221, comes from a 2021 GMC Truck Sierra 3500 and is graded as an A, indicating a high-quality unit. However, the seller notes that the engine is from a vehicle that did not start (DNS) and was flood-damaged, with unknown mileage and no inspection sticker available. This means while the engine is structurally sound and graded well, its operational history and exact wear level are uncertain, which is vital to consider before purchase. This engine is a direct donor from the specified 2021 GMC Sierra 3500 model, ensuring it matches the original specifications for that vehicle. However, buyers should verify compatibility with their specific vehicle's engine variant and configuration, as differences in engine codes or options may exist. The absence of a mileage sticker and the flood damage history require careful inspection and possibly testing to assess the engine's internal condition and potential for future reliability. When comparing this engine to others on the market, consider the grade A rating as a positive indicator but weigh it against the flood damage and unknown mileage. If you prioritize a balance between cost and quality, this engine could be a viable option, provided you conduct thorough condition inspections. It is advisable to consult with a trusted mechanic or engine specialist to evaluate this unit further. The seller's notes mention an estimated CO2e savings of 1194kg, reflecting environmental benefits from reusing this engine rather than manufacturing a new one. This can be an additional consideration for environmentally conscious buyers. For more information on GMC parts and to explore other compatible components, visit our GMC parts section.
