2018 Chevy Corvette Rack & Pinion (Steering) — Part # 4617 — Auto Works, Inc. · Madison, WI

When replacing the steering rack on your 2018 Chevy Corvette Z06, one often overlooked factor is the condition of the rack's internal components after damage such as fire exposure. This listing offers an OEM steering gear rack with 12,000 miles, noted by the seller as fire damaged but graded A, which suggests it may still be structurally sound or repairable. The rack & pinion assembly is a critical component for precise steering control, and its integrity directly affects vehicle handling and safety. This particular rack is from a 2018 C7 Corvette Z06, ensuring the correct fit for that model year and trim. However, the fire damage noted by the seller means you should carefully assess the extent of heat exposure and potential impact on seals, bearings, and internal gears before installation. Comparing this unit with a non-damaged replacement or consulting a professional about refurbishment options might be beneficial. The seller's stock identifier 4617 helps you reference this exact unit when inquiring or ordering. To ensure compatibility and condition, check the rack's mounting points, input shaft spline count, and hydraulic connections against your vehicle's requirements. Also, inquire about any included components or warranties from the seller.
