2003 Ford Focus Engine Z2871

When selecting an engine replacement, one often overlooked but crucial factor is ensuring the engine matches the exact specifications of your vehicle's original powertrain, including emissions standards and displacement. This 2003 Ford Focus engine is a tested and nicely maintained unit, graded A for quality, specifically from a model with an automatic transmission and a 2.3L displacement. It corresponds to the eighth digit VIN 'Z', indicating a Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV), which means it meets stricter emissions requirements and offers environmental benefits such as an estimated CO2e savings of 1194 kg. This engine is a solid choice if your 2003 Ford Focus originally came with a 2.3L PZEV engine. Buyers should verify their vehicle's VIN eighth digit to confirm compatibility. The seller notes the engine is in excellent condition and has been tested, which adds confidence to its reliability. However, since this is a used part, it’s important to compare your current engine’s specifications and condition with this listing to ensure a proper match. When considering this engine, check your vehicle's transmission type (automatic in this case), displacement, and emissions classification. This engine may not fit non-PZEV or manual transmission variants. The seller identifier Z2871 can help you reference this exact unit when contacting the seller. For more details and to explore compatible components, consider browsing Ford parts and Focus parts. Taking these steps will help you make an informed purchase that aligns with your vehicle’s requirements and environmental standards.
