2001 Ford Mustang Engine — Part # 004 — Samys Used Auto Parts · Opa Locka, FL

When considering an engine replacement for your 2001 Ford Mustang, one often overlooked but critical factor is ensuring the exact engine configuration matches your vehicle's specifications. This is especially important for the 4.6L SOHC engine variant, which can differ significantly from other Mustang engines in terms of performance and compatibility. This listing is for a 4.6L Single Overhead Cam (SOHC) engine from a 2001 Ford Mustang GT, identified by the 8th digit VIN 'X', and notably without the Bullitt package. The absence of the Bullitt package means this engine may have different tuning or components compared to Bullitt models, which is essential to verify before purchase. This engine carries a grade A condition rating, indicating it is in excellent condition according to the seller's assessment. However, buyers should confirm the engine's operational status and inspect for any wear or damage that might not be visible in photos or descriptions. Comparing this engine to other 4.6L Mustang engines requires checking the camshaft type, emissions equipment, and any performance modifications. The seller's notes also mention an estimated CO2e savings of 1194kg, which may be relevant for buyers considering environmental impact or regulatory compliance. Before purchasing, verify your Mustang's VIN to ensure the 8th digit matches 'X' for compatibility with this SOHC GT engine. Additionally, assess whether your vehicle has the Bullitt package, as this engine is not from a Bullitt model.
