1999 Chevy Tahoe Engine 00064100

When considering a replacement engine for your 1999 Chevy Tahoe, one often overlooked factor is the engine's cooling system condition, especially if the unit has a history of overheating. This 5.7L V8 engine with an engine oil cooler is a critical component to maintain optimal operating temperatures and prevent damage. The seller notes that this engine runs but overheats, so it's important to assess the cooling system integrity before installation. This engine is identified with the 8th VIN digit "R," confirming the 5.7L displacement. It includes the engine oil cooler, which is essential for maintaining oil temperature under heavy load. The grade "C" suggests it may have some wear or issues consistent with its overheating condition. Buyers should compare this unit against other engines for the same model year and engine size, considering factors like compression, mileage, and any included accessories. Since this engine is from a 1999 Chevy Tahoe, ensure your vehicle matches this exact year and engine configuration to avoid fitment issues. It's advisable to verify the condition of the cooling system components, such as the radiator, hoses, and thermostat, when planning installation.
