1997 Chevy Corvette Power Steering Rack/Box/Gear — Part # 180334 — Jones Auto, Inc. · Orleans, IN

When replacing the power steering rack, one often overlooked but critical factor is ensuring the unit matches the exact specifications of your vehicle's steering system to maintain proper handling and safety. This listing features a power steering rack/box/gear specifically from a 1997 Chevy Corvette, equipped with a 5.7-liter engine. The seller has graded this part as a "C," indicating it may show signs of wear or use, so careful inspection is advised before installation. This power steering rack is a key component that translates your steering wheel movements into the turning of the vehicle's wheels, ensuring smooth and responsive steering. Since this part is from the donor vehicle itself, it is tailored to fit the 1997 Chevy Corvette, but buyers should verify compatibility with their specific Corvette model and configuration due to potential variations in steering assemblies. When comparing this part to alternatives, consider the condition grade and engine size compatibility. A "C" grade part may require refurbishment or additional maintenance, unlike new or higher-grade used parts. Also, confirm the steering rack's side and mounting points match your vehicle's setup to avoid installation issues. The seller's notes specify the engine displacement as 5.7 liters, which aligns with many Corvette models from that year, supporting fitment confidence. However, the listing does not specify included components like mounting hardware or seals, so plan accordingly. Before purchasing, verify your vehicle's engine size and steering system details, assess the part's condition, and confirm any additional parts needed for installation.
