Description

When selecting an engine for your 1993 Ford Ranger, one often overlooked factor is the engine's emission control configuration, especially for vehicles originally equipped for California emissions standards. This 4.0L engine, identified by VIN position 8 as 'X' and coded 6-245, includes an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system designed to reduce emissions and comply with California regulations. Such details are crucial to ensure your replacement engine matches your vehicle's environmental requirements and legal standards. This listing features a 4.0L engine from a 1993 Ford Ranger with California-specific EGR equipment. The seller notes an estimated CO2e savings of 1194kg, highlighting the environmental consideration embedded in this part. The engine is graded 'X' by the seller, which may indicate a particular condition or quality level, so confirming the exact meaning with the seller is advisable. When comparing engines, verify the VIN digit and emission equipment to ensure compatibility. Engines without EGR or from non-California vehicles may not fit or meet local regulations. Additionally, check the engine's physical condition and included components, as these factors affect installation and performance. This engine is specifically from a 1993 Ford Ranger, so it is tailored for that model and year. For more options or parts, you can explore Ford parts or narrow down to Ranger parts. Before purchasing, confirm the engine's grade, included accessories, and verify the emission system matches your vehicle's requirements. Reach out to the seller for detailed condition reports and installation compatibility. Taking these steps will help ensure you select the right engine for your Ranger, maintaining both performance and compliance.
