Description

The 2009 Ford Fusion Air Injection Pump is a critical component designed to reduce harmful emissions by injecting fresh air into the exhaust stream during cold engine starts. This process helps accelerate the catalytic converter's light-off, effectively oxidizing hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide to meet emission standards. Known also as the Secondary Air Injection (SAI) pump or smog pump, it plays an essential role in the vehicle's emission control system. This pump is compatible with various 2009 Ford Fusion submodels, particularly those equipped with a 2.3L 4-cylinder engine and multiple transmission types. When considering replacement, it is important to verify the exact fitment for your vehicle, as multiple OEM variants exist.
